The Noyes Noyes HiLite Visual Fault Identifier. Includes carry case, protective rubber boot and manual. Visible fault identifiers are simple, easy to use instruments designed to locate faults on fiber optic cables. When a break or sharp bend exists in a fiber, the red light from the bisible fault identifier will indicate the trouble spot. Helps locate troubles in splice trays, patch panels, cable splice points and tracing fiber runs in multimode or single mode systems. The output laser puts out 1 mW, pulsed @ 2Hz with a wavelength of 650nm and uses a single (1) AAA Alkaline. Universal 2.5 mm connector type.Noyes OFI 200B Optical Fiber Identifier. Includes carry case and manual. Designed to detect optical signals without disrupting traffic. During maintenance, installations, rerouting, or restorations it is often necessary to isolate a specific fiber. By simply clamping the OFI 200B onto a 250um to 900um fiber, the unit will indicate if there is no signal, a 2kHz tone, or traffic and show signal direction. The Signal Range is +23 to -40 dBm typical. Wavelength Range is 900 -1700nm and has a typical insertion loss of 0.02dB at 1310nm and 1.5dB at 1550nm. Runs on a single 9 volt battery.
Light
generated by this unit will escape from sharp bends and breaks in jacketed or
bare fibers, as well as poorly mated connectors. Thus they can identify faults
in fiber optic jumper cable, distribution frames, patch panels, and splice trays.
The VFI 2 is an excellent compliant to an OTDR because it can locate faults inside
the OTDR’s dead-zone. Other applications include end-to-end continually checks,
identifying connectors in patch panels, and identifying fibers during splicing
operations. The universal connector interface provides fast operation with many
connector styles without changing an adapter.
